RUMFORD — Rumford Grange will hold a barbecued chicken summer dinner from 4:30 to 6:30 p.m. Saturday, Aug. 5, on Route 2.

Cost: $10 for adults; $8 for children younger than 8.

LOCKE MILLS — Jackson-Silver Post 68, American Legion, will have a baked chicken dinner and a dance from 5 to 9 p.m. Tuesday, Aug. 8, at 595 Gore Road.

Cost will be $7 for the supper, $5 for the dance dance or $12 both. Children younger than 12 will cost $4.

NORWAY — Christ Episcopal Church and St. Catherine’s Church in Norway will hold the annual old-fashioned ice cream social at 6 p.m. Tuesday, Aug. 8on the lawn at St. Catherine’s Church, 29 Paris St. 

This social is held each year to honor the covenant between these two churches.

Those attending should bring their own chair. If there is rain, the event will move indoors.

Cost: $5 for adults, free for children 10 and younger.

LIVERMORE FALLS — Emmanuel Assembly of God will serve a community barbecue meal from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. on the second Saturday of the month from through September at 17 Reynolds Ave., across the street from the American Legion Hall.

The next barbecue will be held Saturday, Aug. 12. Everyone is welcome.

Cost: Free. 

MEXICO — Mexico Congregational Church, UCC (the “Green Church”), will serve a potluck American chop suey and baked bean supper at 5 p.m. Saturday, Aug. 12, at 163 Main St.

The supper is being served in appreciation for the support the church receives from the community throughout the year.

For those who wish to participate, an auction of whole pies will be held following the supper.

DURHAM — Acacia Lodge will serve an all-you-can-eat bean supper from 4:30 to 6 p.m. Saturday, Aug. 12, on Route 136.

PARIS — Oxford Hills Rotarians recently held an organizational meeting for the 31st annual Lobster & Steak Fest to be held from 3 to 6 p.m. Saturday, Aug. 19, under the tents at Oxford Hills Comprehensive High School.

The event will be held rain or shine, and entertainment will be provided by the Just Us Two Band.

The meal includes a lobster or a steak, clams, corn on the cob, fries, watermelon and a beverage. Advance tickets are encouraged to ensure there are adequate provisions the day of the event.

Tickets are $25 a person in advance or $30 the day of the event. Orders are also available for takeout.
