BROWNVILLE — B. Grace Dillon, 71, passed away peacefully Tuesday, Aug. 15, at her home.

She was born Feb. 19, 1946, in Norway, the daughter of Ralph F. and Alice E. (Peirce) Dyer. Grace graduated from Casco High School, and she then continued her education on to nursing school. Grace finished her career as a manager for J.J. Newberry’s after many years. In later years, she enjoyed serving as a volunteer at Brownville Elementary School, where the children knew her as “Miss Grace.” Grace enjoyed many things — her cats, bird-watching, crime documentaries, “The Golden Girls,” photography, history and politics. Above all, Grace loved and enjoyed her home, spending time with her husband outdoors, and her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

Grace is survived by her loving husband of 51 years, D. Wayne Dillon; her children, Donald W. “Bud” Dillon and his wife, Carolyn, and Angela G. Cook and her significant other, James Matthews Jr.; her grandchildren, who will affectionately remember her as “Grammie” or “Wonnie,” Devin Gillespie and wife, Angela, Jessica Herbest and husband, Jeremy, Joshua Dillon, Krishanna Cook, Phillip Cook and Brianne Dillon; her two great-grandchildren, who called her “Mammie,” Brooklyn Dillon and Aerial Turner; her siblings, Keith Dyer and his significant other, Diane, Patricia Haggerty and her husband, Albert, and Garry Dyer and his wife, Deborah; and many nieces and nephews.

She was predeceased by her parents and siblings, George, Rodney, Roberta, Benjamin, and Lucien.
