Orono Assembly #38 International Order of the Rainbow for Girls will hold a free cookout and give away 100 backpacks and school supplies on Saturday, August 26, from 11 a.m.-1 p.m. for students in grades 3-12.
The event, which will be held at Orono United Methodist Church, 36 Oak Street, Orono, will help students fill backpacks with grade appropriate school supplies on a first come, first served basis.
During the cookout, students will choose a backpack and select desired school supplies.
The event is hosted by Orono Assembly #38 International Order of the Rainbow for Girls and in conjunction with local Masonic lodges and the Bangor Chapter of Demolay.
