WILTON — Talent was amass at the Wilton Blueberry Festival.
The annual Wilton Blueberry Festival Art Show saw 35 entries in the festival’s 35th year.
Coordinator Kathi Smith reported that entries have doubled in the past two years. Smith, an assistant professor of art at Husson University and a native of Wilton, took on the art show as a project to promote community arts in her hometown in 2012.
The 2017 juror was Henry Harley Wasserman, a third-generation Wiltonian and traveling photojournalist.
This year’s prize winners were:
Best of Show: Francine Bitting, “Summertime by the Coast,” colored pencil drawing.
Best Themed Piece, Disney Theme: Jasmine Saindon, “Mickey Mouse,” acrylic painting.
Aspiring Young Artist Award: Lauryn Jaimie E. Walston, “Wings of Water,” marker and paint.
Honorable Mentions: Alexis Burbank and Francis Bitting.
More talent was acknowledged during other contests at the festival:

Doll and Bike Parade (dolls): First, Elaina French, Wilton; second, Emma Rowley, Jay; third, Madelyn Rowley, Jay; and, honorable mention, Ashlyn Rowley, Jay.
Doll and Bike Parade (bikes): First, Rachel Bridges, Wilton; second, Mcella Ford, Wilton; third, Jaidyyn Peace, Wilton; and, honorable mention, Jedidiah French, Jay.
Doll and Bike Parade (other): first, Nevnah King, Wilton, second, Riley Hall, Chesterville; Olivia White, Norridgewock; Jackson White, Norridgewock; Natalie Kline, Auburn; Findley Burdin, Auburn.
Chili Contest: First, Narisara Lamb; second, Brooke McKenna; third, Beth Karkos; 15 and younger, Elly Brackett; and, best of show, Brooke McKenna.
