Coach: Chris Merrill (fourth year)
Class: A; Conference: KVAC
Last year’s record: 6-2 (finished eighth at the state tournament)
Returning players: Juniors — Ben Cassidy, Aaron Perkins.
Key losses: Ryan Raby, Deryk Belanger, Jacob Dubuc.
Promising newcomers: Freshmen — Colin Merritt, Will Cassidy
What to expect: The Red Eddies come in to this year with a young team after losing three key seniors from the 2016 squad. They’ll seek to continue to improve throughout the year as they prepare for the qualifier. If the players can improve as the season goes on, Merrill said they can compete for a spot in the states. Merrill also believes that despite his team’s youth, it can be competitive in its matches during the regular season.
