AUBURN — Stephen Crawford Weidner, 50, of Auburn, died peacefully on August 27th 2017 at the Marshwood Center in Lewiston. His parents and sisters were with him in his final days of life. He was born in Brunswick on April 17th 1967 and attended schools in Orchard Park and East Aurora New York. Steve graduated from South High School in Crystal Lake Illinois in 1986 where he played varsity hockey and tennis. He attended Southern Illinois University and graduated with a degree in Business Administration. After college Steve worked in the financial services industry in the Chicago area before moving to Maine in 2001. He was employed by Great Falls Marketing in Auburn as a sales representative until he was diagnosed with multiple sclerosis in September 2016. Steve was a die-hard Chicago Cubs fan and spoke fondly of his trips to Wrigley Field. He was a fine self-taught cook, a skillful carpenter and an avid book reader. Steve was a member of the New Auburn Social Club and enjoyed being with friends and participating in activities at the club. Steve is survived by his parents, Arthur and Karen Weidner of Green Valley, Arizona; two sisters, Julie Carter and her husband, Joel, of Chicago, Illinois; and Greta Weidner and her husband, Patrick Hayden, of Washington, D.C.; an uncle, Joseph Kitchens and his wife, Gail, of Woodstock, Georgia; cousins, Michael Kitchens and his wife, Dorothy, of Atlanta, Georgia, Lori Houston and husband, Joseph, of Marietta, Georgia, and Joan Koolidge and husband, Michael, of Rochelle, Illinois.
