FARMINGTON — Medora T. Hardy, 84, a longtime resident of Jay, passed away late Thursday evening, Aug. 31, at Orchard Park Rehabilitation and Living Center in Farmington, where she had resided for the past year.

She was born Nov. 7, 1932, in Jay, the daughter of Wilfred Breton and Cecile (Simoneau) Breton. She was a 1950 graduate of Livermore Falls High School.

On July 4, 1956, at St. Rose of Lima Church in Jay, she married Wendall Hardy of Livermore Falls. They made their home and raised their family in Riley. Wendall passed away Aug. 18, 1996.

In her younger years Medora had worked at the Glove Shop in Livermore and later worked as a clerical secretary for New England Furniture and for Dr. Girardin. She was a communicant of St. Rose of Lima Church. She enjoyed cooking, camping, traveling, crocheting and quilting.

She is survived by her daughters, Pamela Ann Hardy, of Jay, and Linda Hardy, of Point Blank, Texas; her grandson, whom she adored, Eric Hardy and his wife, Margo, of Winslow; sisters, Lucille Wells and her husband, Richard, of Livermore Falls, and Noella Lee of Clearwater, Fla.; brothers, Lucian Breton, of Greene, and Raymond Breton and his wife, Paulette, of Conway, S.C.; and godchild, Rachel Howes.

She was predeceased by her parents; husband; sister, Claire Woods; and her brother, Adrien Breton.
