FARMINGTON — A Temple man was arrested on a charge of driving under the influence after crashing his truck into a telephone pole Saturday on New Vineyard Road.

Michael S. Kane, 51, was taken to Franklin Memorial Hospital by NorthStar ambulance after the 5:04 p.m. accident, said Deputy Chief Shane Cote of the Farmington Police Department.

He was checked out, released and taken to the Franklin County Detention Center, where he made bail of $250 cash Sunday.

Kane was driving a 2001 Chevy pickup south on New Vineyard Road, also known as Route 27, when he lost control and went into the pole, Cote said.

No one else was injured. The pole was cracked, Cote said.
