AUBURN — Claudia Frost will be the speaker at a Lewiston-Auburn Rotary Club meeting from noon to 1 p.m. Thursday, Sept. 14, at the Village Inn, 165 High St.
Frost serves as assistant governor for neighboring Rotary District 7780. Originally from Auburn, Claudia Goudey Frost has retired from teaching to Bailey Island. She is past president of the Rotary Club of Brunswick, 2013-14. During her presidency, she developed an interest in international service, which produced a Global Grant for Healthy Kids/Brighter Future in Zambia followed by a trip to Zambia in 2015.
Frost’s presentation will be on her trip to Nigeria in October 2016 where she delivered braille books to a school and orphanage for special needs children in the village of Jada. In May of 2017, Frost traveled to the Dominican Republic to help install water filters in the homes of the cane field workers.
When she stays home, she can be found playing with her five grandchildren or paddling on her SUP.
Lunch is available, and reservations are not required.

We believe it's important to offer commenting on certain stories as a benefit to our readers. At its best, our comments sections can be a productive platform for readers to engage with our journalism, offer thoughts on coverage and issues, and drive conversation in a respectful, solutions-based way. It's a form of open discourse that can be useful to our community, public officials, journalists and others.
We do not enable comments on everything — exceptions include most crime stories, and coverage involving personal tragedy or sensitive issues that invite personal attacks instead of thoughtful discussion.
