LEWISTON — Holy Family Church, 607 Sabattus St., will host its 14th annual Veterans Day Community Prayer Service at 6:30 p.m. on Thursday, Nov. 9.

The following is a list of events that are scheduled to take place:

• A replica float of Iwo Jima will be placed at the front of the church.

• The Freeport Flag Ladies will carry the American flag at the start of the event.

• The Kora Highlanders Drum and Bagpipe Unit will also play at the opening ceremony.

• Various denomination ministers and clergy will deliver short prayers.

• All five branches of the military will process in with flags.

• The POW/MIA flag, along with the cover, will be placed on an empty chair to signify those still missing; and

• Patriotic songs will be played by the music director.

The event is open to all.
