A group that started discussing Old Town’s future invites the public to take part in its next meeting at 5:30 p.m. on Oct. 4 at Old Town Elementary School.

In January 2016 the Old Town Stakeholder Group identified issues for Old Town including community image/pride, drugs/mental health, housing, food insecurity/poverty, and youth services and began to work on them. Steps have been taken to address some of those problems,

At the meeting on the 4th, sub-groups will be formed and meet to further examine the root causes of the issues that have been addressed. From those root causes each group will be asked to select a project to focus on and bring to completion by May 2018.

The evening starts with a meal at 5:30 p.m., with the sub-groups to begin their work at 6 p.m. The meeting will end at 7;30 p.m. Please RSVP David Walker, RSU 34’s superintendent of schools at david.walker@rsu34.org by Oct. 2 if you plan to attend so that plans may be made for the dinner.
