Game wardens believe they have identified two men involved in a hunting incident Monday in Gorham.
Cpl. John MacDonald wrote in a news release Tuesday that the two men sought by wardens are “cooperating fully” and that wardens are working with the Cumberland County District Attorney’s Office on the case.
The bird hunter shot in the face Monday is “recovering well,” MacDonald wrote.
Names of those involved in the case have not been released.
A 55-year-old Casco man said he was hit with birdshot shortly before 8 a.m. Monday while hunting pheasant off Mosher Road/Route 237 in Gorham, across the road from Shaw Brothers Construction, MacDonald wrote.
He told wardens he had a brief interaction with two men shortly after the shooting, then they fled the scene.
