LEWISTON — Jennifer E. Buschmann, 48, of Lewiston, passed away Saturday, Sept. 30, in the comfort of her home with her companion, Shawn, by her side after a courageous battle with cancer.

Jenn was born July 4, 1969, the daughter of Edmund A. and Louise Michaud Buschmann of Lewiston. She attended local schools and graduated as a consistent honor roll student from Hebron Academy in 1987. She was a commended student by the National Merit Scholarship Program and earned varsity letters in tennis, track and field and participated in the drama club (set design and construction). She earned her bachelor’s degree from the University of Maine, business with a minor in law. Jennifer became owner and president of E.A. Buschmann, Inc. in 2004 after her father retired. She also partnered with her dad in the operation of Dun Roamin’ Christmas Tree Farm. She was a board member of the Super Hero’s Animal Hydro Society, a member of the National Christmas Tree Association and the Maine Christmas Tree Association. Jennifer was an avid reader, very artistic and enjoyed business-related County and Down East sales runs. She was a very loving and devoted cat owner, especially to Tressa and Bungo. Jennifer and Shawn spent the last four years building a cabin in Lakeville, “Wizzle Way,” hoping to one day call it their home. She was treasurer of the lake landowners association (SLOA). She and Shawn enjoyed many outdoor activities together.

She is survived by her companion of 23 years, Shawn Small. She is also survived by her mother and father of Lewiston; her brother, Jonathan, his wife, Tiana and their daughters, Kealia and Maile, of Steamboat Springs, Colo.; godparents, John and Jeanne Silva; and many aunts, uncles and cousins. Jennifer is also survived by Shawn’s parents, Bruce and Dolly Small; his three siblings; nieces; and nephews. She was predeceased by paternal grandparents, Professor August Buschmann, Elizabeth King Buschmann and a previously deceased grandmother, Catherine Sears Buschmann; and maternal grandparents, Leonard J. Michaud and Jeanette Gagnon Michaud.
