WILTON — The Wilton CareerCenter offers a variety of programs for job-seekers, including the following:

Essentials of College Planning — 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. Thursday, Oct. 19. This workshop introduces people to educational opportunities in general and Maine Educational Opportunity Center services in particular. The workshop addresses admissions, financial aid, career and study skills. The Financial Aid portion will provide an overview of financial basics and the completion of the Free Application of Federal Student Aid (FAFSA). Call to pre-register: 1-800-281-3703.

The Small Business Administration will offer three workshops: Starting Your Own Small Business, Access to Capital and Federal and State Resources for Small Business. Most of these workshops are two hours long. For more information, call Bill Card at 207-622-8555.

Vocational Rehabilitation Orientation — 2 to 4 p.m. Wednesday, Oct. 18, Region 9 School of Applied Technology, 377 River Road, Mexico. An orientation for people with disabilities who are considering vocational rehabilitation services. Service providers are also welcome to attend. Registration not required.

CareerCenters, part of the Maine Department of Labor, provide several public-access computer workstations with Microsoft Office software, resume writing and cover letter software, internet access and O*Net software for skills assessment. All CareerCenter services are free of charge.
