Honey bee club to meet
PARIS — Oxford Hills Honey Bee Club’s monthly meeting will be held at 1 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 21, at the Oxford County Extension Center, 9 Olson Road.
Members should note that this one time, the October meeting will be held the third Saturday.
There will be an open hive, weather permitting. Those attending should bring veils.

NORWAY — The Weary Club will meet at 8 a.m. Saturday, Oct. 21, at the clubhouse.
Phillips Society annual meeting
PHILLIPS — The annual Phillips Historical Society meeting potluck supper is scheduled for 6 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 21, at the Phillips Community House on Main Street.
The supper is open to the public and everyone is welcome to attend.
Following the supper, keynote speaker Adam Fisher, Director of Collections, Digital Initiatives and Promotion at the Maine State Library will share what is being accomplished for the Museum in cooperation with the Maine State Library.
Additional dialogue will highlight other projects the Maine State Library is involved in as well as services the Library provides to the people of the state.
Members and guests are invited to bring a dish to share.
Texas Hold’em Oct. 21, 23
LOCKE MILLS — Jackson-Silver Post 68, American Legion, will host two Texas Hold’em poker tournaments on Oct. 21 and 23, at 595 Gore Road.
The Saturday, Oct. 21, game will start at 1 p.m.; doors will open at 11 a.m.
The Monday, Oct. 23, game will start at 7 p.m.; doors will open at 5 p.m.
Both tournaments will have a 50/50 raffle, pull tabs, meals and beverages available.
Knights seek youth winter coats
BRIDGTON — The Knights of Columbus Council 11376 of Bridgton/Fryeburg are seeking donations of children’s winter coats in good and clean condition for distribution to area families in need.
In Bridgton, coats will be collected from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 21, and from 9:30 to 11:30 a.m. Sunday, Oct. 22, at St. Joseph’s Church, 225 South High St.
In Fryeburg, coats will be collected from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 28, and from 11:45 a.m. to 2 p.m. Sunday, Oct. 29, at Saint Elizabeth Anne Seton Church 857 Main St.
