This Friday’s Art Walk LA , Oct. 5, 5 to 8 p.m., will offer a range of arts experiences, indoors and out. Auburn’s Festival Plaza will feature The Veayo Twins Trio, followed by a meet-and-greet. At One Great Falls Plaza, directly opposite Auburn City Hall, the annual Boys & Girls Club Photo Contest will be on display (also showing in Lewiston). Visitors vote for their favorite images, the top 13 will appear in the 2018 Boys & Girls Club calendar.
Highlights of Art Walk LA events in Lewiston include:
Androscoggin Bank: the work of photographer and digital artist Bonham Johnson, attending from Atlanta, Georgia
The Vault: wood carvings by Dan Burns
Bear Bones Beer: OktoBEARfest presents spooky, autumnal-themed creative work from employees and family members. Includes: Wishbone Handmade Jewelry, Cracked Cauldron fair-trade, locally- roasted coffee beans and works from DuForge Studio. Plus live music from Morgan Foss.
Quiet City Books: works by Daniel Rennie
Hardy Wolf & Downing: Boys & Girls Club Photo Contest. Visitors vote for their favorite images to appear in the annual calendar.
Kimball Street Studios: art quilts Maine
Guthries: works by Terry Grasse and music by Chris Robley.
The Hive: works by artist Jennifer Gammon
At the L/A Arts Gallery: “Remnant,” by Celeste LaForme and “Journeys of the Hand: Artisans from Africa.”
Closing reception for the Breast Impressions exhibit at The Studio, a fundraiser for the Dempsey Center.
