I write in reference to the opinion page cartoon of Oct. 14. It is disgusting and sad for the Sun Journal to have printed it. It made obvious reference to the horribly disastrous and devastating fires burning in California’s wine country.

To make light of that tragedy is disgusting as people rightfully pray for those people already lost and those yet to be found or identified. So many people have lost so much — their loved ones, their homes and all their belongings. I see no comedy in that.

Our thoughts and prayers should be with all involved with those devastating fires, including the firefighters and medical personnel, as well as police and many unsung heroes.

They deserve the coverage, not an ill-placed, sick comedic reference.
