Signs of No Merger or One L/A are all over Lewiston and Auburn. But on the ballot, the word “merger” is not used at all.
The referendum question is “Do you approve the charter and consolidation agreement as recommended by the Lewiston Auburn Joint Charter Commission?” A simple referendum question, easily understood, should have been written as “Do you support Lewiston and Auburn becoming one city?”
I hope the voters of Lewiston and Auburn understand fully the referendum question as written as they cast their vote for that important issue.
