NORWAY — The Cancer Resource Center of Western Maine has announced the November calendar.  Events are held at the center in the Stephens Memorial Hospital Specialty Clinic building, 199 Main St., unless otherwise noted.

Turkey Trot: The center will hold its first four-mile/one-mile Turkey Trot beginning at 9 a.m. Thursday, Thanksgiving morning, Nov. 23, at the Guy E. Rowe School. Participants may register at runsignup.com/turkeytrot4hope/signup.

Yoga Warriors: 3 to 3:45 p.m. Wednesdays, Nov. 1, 8, 15 and 29, at Posabilities, 15 Tannery St. The free yoga class will support healthy living for individuals facing the challenges of cancer through gentle movement and breath, supportive restorative yoga postures and guided mediation and relaxation. Preregistration is encouraged. Registration is required by contacting 207-890-0329 or by arriving 15 minutes early.

Banding Together to Restore: 10 to 11 a.m. Thursdays, Nov. 2, 9, 16 and 30, at Richard Bader Physical Therapy, 176 Main St. The program, led by Lori Britting, is focused on regaining motion and strength through guided instruction using stretching and colored Therabands. Preregistration is encouraged by contacting 207-890-0329 or by arriving 15 minutes early.

Yoga for Wellness: 8 to 9 a.m. Fridays. Either Kat Larsen or Sherri will teach the class at the center. It will include breathing, movement and relaxing meditation while seated or standing. 

Chair Yoga: 2 to 3 p.m. Fridays, led by Sherri. No mats are necessary.

Guided Meditation Gathering: 1 to 1:45 p.m. Wednesday, Nov. 8. Susan Kane encourages those present to use their imagination and five sense to relax which in turn helps to lower stress.

Introduction to Reiki: 9:30 to 10:30 a.m. Friday, Nov. 10. Charlotte LaBelle of Teresia Reiki will demonstrate how Reiki helps to alleviate stress and promote relaxation.

Introduction to Reflexology: 9:30 to 10:30 a.m. Friday, Nov. 17. Karen Tibbetts will demonstrate how applying pressure to reflex points may help improve circulation and reduce body stress.

Stampin’ Up: 2 to 3:30 p.m. Tuesday, Nov. 7. Kathy will provide materials and instruction to make a variety of cards.

Fabric Crafting: 2 to 3:30 p.m. Tuesday, Nov. 21, at Sew Orchid Design, 316 Main St. Barbara Daigle is teaching a series of non-sewing or beginner sewing crafts.

Beading Project: 2 to 3 p.m. Tuesday, Nov. 28, at Lively Accents, 310 Main St. Cathy is the instructor.

Coloring for Adults: 2 to 3 p.m. Thursdays. A group meets to color, there are a variety of books and markers available.

All programs are free to anyone impacted by cancer, survivors and caregivers. New visitors are welcome. The center will be closed for the Thanksgiving holiday, Thursday and Friday, Nov. 23 and 24.

Drop-in hours are from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Thursday and Friday. Volunteers are available to provide comfort items such as port protectors, wigs, hats, pillows or look for resources. They have many pamphlets and a lending library.
