TEMPLE — Police said a Wilton man lost control of the car he was driving Monday on Temple Road, and it crashed through a fence and stopped in the woods.

Along the way, it drove through Halloween decorations and over a rock wall, Franklin County Deputy Keith Madore said.

Jody Morris, 41, was heading toward Farmington when the Chevrolet Impala he was driving went off the road at about 8:21 a.m. in front of 131 Temple Road, Madore said.

The car took out a section of a wooden rail fence before driving over an old wooden plow and wooden figurine that had been passed down in the family and was decorated for Halloween.

The crash remains under investigation.
