AARP offers document shredding

LEWISTON — During the Drug Take Back event at the Lewiston High School, AARP will offer document shredding.

The document shredding and prescription drug collection will take place from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 28.

Wreath-making classes announced

LISBON — Christmas wreath-making classes will again be offered at Beaver Park.

Verla will lead the classes at 6 p.m. Monday, Nov. 27, and Thursday, Nov. 30. Cost is $15 and all materials are included. Pine cones, ornaments and other decorations will be available, as well as moss and natural materials.

Sign-up needs to be done ahead of time as the classes fill quickly. Call Lisbon Parks & Recreation at 207-353-2289. Pay with cash or check made out to Lisbon Parks & Recreation.

All classes are held in the lodge at Beaver Park, 37 Cotton Road.

Pinochle, pitch players welcome 

LEWISTON — Pinochle and pitch card games for seniors are played weekly through May at the Lewiston Armory, 65 Central Ave.

New players are always welcome. Pitch is played at 1 p.m. on Tuesdays. Pinochle is at 1 p.m. on Thursdays. Refresher courses are available in both categories.

The armory is open from 8 a.m. to 1 p.m. Monday through Thursday. Players must become a member to participate.
