The television ads and other slick advertising produced by the One LA campaign are unseemly to me. A review of One LA’s most recent finance report indicates that three persons — Gene Geiger, Tom Platz and Carl Sheline — contributed some $65,000 to the merger campaign.
They have every right to throw good money after bad in the ill-conceived initiative. However, it seems to me they should be making their arguments without the need for saturation advertising.
I hope residents of Lewiston and Auburn will join me in voting “no” against consolidation, as proposed by the Lewiston-Auburn Joint Charter Commission.
Larry Conrad, Auburn
