I write with regard to a Washington Post article that appeared in the Sun Journal on Oct. 21.
In Prince George’s County, Maryland, stands a 40-foot-tall marble and cement cross honoring the 49 men of that county who lost their lives during World War I. The courts say the cross should be removed from public lands because it is an unconstitutional government endorsement of religion.
I suppose next to come down, or altered, would be the United States Supreme Court building in Washington, D.C. On the front facade, top-dead-center, is a depiction of Moses holding the Ten Commandments tablets. I have never seen the inside of the building, but I am almost positive somewhere in there it says, in God we trust.
Is that what is meant by hypocrisy?
