WEST PARIS — The Board of Selectmen disposed of two tax-acquired properties Thursday.

A non-buildable lot on Route 26 near McKeen Road went to Dale and Joanna Hosford for $100. Theirs was the only bid.

The former Stacey Mason parcel off Allen Road went to Don Mason for $4,601.01. The only other bid was for $150.

The Mason bid was awarded subject to a successful resolution or rerouting of the ATV/snowmobile trail passing through the property.

The board granted a tax abatement for $186.82 on a mobile home formerly owned by Gloria Hadley and now owned by Kalvin Mason.

Town Manager Wade Rainey will meet with Town Managers Vern Maxfield of Woodstock and Kimberly Sparks of Greenwood to discuss a possible multitown recreation director.

After hearing no comments from those at two public hearings, junkyard permits were granted to Frank Perham for Route 219 Garage, and Ernie Yap for West Paris Metals.

Chairman Mike Grass said winter sand has been delivered. He also said three children were caught on camera vandalizing the ball field cameras. As their faces were “clearly visible,” the Oxford County Sheriff’s Office interviewed them and charges have been filed.

In response to a resident’s question after the meeting adjourned, the board confirmed that Clark’s Scrap from Hallowell will begin removing cars from the Mason junkyard on Briggs Street on Wednesday, Nov. 1.
