When I was the District Attorney for Androscoggin, Oxford and Franklin counties, I had the privilege of working with Mark Cayer in his capacity as a law enforcement officer. As an investigator, Cayer always kept an open mind. Rather than come to a conclusion and then search for facts to substantiate that conclusion, he would always work diligently to determine exactly what the facts were before he came to any decision. He consistently demonstrated professionalism and was thorough and fair.
Cayer approaches municipal government in the same manner.
He listens to what others have to offer, focuses on the issues at hand and works to bring people together to resolve problems. His focus on economic development, education, local investment and retention of area youth are both appropriate and timely.
I believe his vision and proven leadership would make Mark Cayer an excellent mayor of Lewiston.
