LEWSTON — Androscoggin Home Care & Hospice President and Chief Executive Officer Kenneth Albert is pleased to announce two additions to AHCH’s Board of Directors.

Michael Martel of Auburn joins the Board after serving as a member of the Foundation Committee. Martel is the Market Director of Main Street East, managing more than 72 funeral homes, cemeteries and crematories in Maine and seven additional states. He’s been responsible for virtually all aspects of operations, including company vision, workforce development, team-building and accountability. Martel is better known locally for his continued work with The Fortin Group, where he served as a Funeral Director from 1994 to 2003.

A graduate of the University of Maine Orono, Martel holds a bachelor’s degree in business administration. He is very active in the community, coaching youth sports, volunteering in the schools and being an active member of the L/A Metropolitan Chamber of Commerce.

Mary-Anne Ponti of Manchester currently serves as the senior vice president, system chief nurse executive for Central Maine Healthcare. She is a registered nurse who has served in many health care leadership roles during her career, including chief operating officer, chief nurse executive, vice president of nursing and president of an independent healthcare consulting firm.

Ponti holds a Doctor of Business Administration from Walden University (Minnesota) and two master’s degrees. She is also a board-certified Fellow of the American College of Healthcare Executives which signifies expertise, experience and commitment to education and professional development.

Ponti has been a member and active participant in the American Organization of Nurse Executives for 18 years and a member of the American College of Healthcare Executives since 2005.
