LEWISTON — Roger E. Martineau, 81, of Lewiston, died Sunday, Oct. 29, at a Lewiston nursing facility.
He was born Jan. 7, 1936, in Waterville, the son of Elzear and Helen Goulet Martineau. Roger graduated from Lewiston High School, Class of 1954, and attended American College in Pennsylvania.
He was employed by Boston Mutual, Metropolitan Life and American Mutual for many years. Later he worked for the U.S. Postal Service in Vero Beach, Fla.
Roger was a life member of the Elks Lodge in Vero Beach as well as the Elks Lodge in Lewiston for 17 years.
Roger was predeceased by his brother, Gordon Martineau, brothers-in-law, George Young, Glorio Paquette and Gerard LaCour and a sister-in-law, Jeannine Lacour.
Survivors include his wife, Geneva Saucier Martineau of Lewiston; two sisters, Jeannine Maliar of Connecticut and Irene Gosselin of Westchester, Pa.; and sisters-in-law, Lorraine Young of Lewiston, Floret Paquette of Sabattus and Lydia Martineau of Lewiston.
