We moved out of Lewiston last year and are missing the opportunity to vote on the merger of Lewiston-Auburn that will be voted on in November. If we were still living there, we would support it 100 percent. We see it as a definite win-win situation for both cities and a plus for all the citizens.
I (Rita) served on the Lewiston-Auburn Commission on Joint Services back in 2009 and it was clear then that the majority of the Lewiston-Auburn residents favored the consolidation of services. The majority agree that cooperation between both cities would mean savings in the long run for the taxpayers and everyone involved.
It is our hope that family, friends and neighbors will vote “yes” on the merger while speaking for us in our absence.
