DEAR SUN SPOTS: Are you a veteran of World War II, the Korean War or the Vietnam War, or do you know someone who is? The Honor Flight Network is a nationwide group of nonprofit organizations solely created to honor veterans. They transport them to Washington, D.C., to visit and reflect at their memorials at no cost to the veterans. SeniorsPlus at 8 Falcon Road in Lewiston will hold an informational meeting about this program, including how to sign up, on Thursday, Nov. 9, from 10  to 11 a.m. To register and for more information, call SeniorsPlus at 795-4010.

DEAR SUN SPOTS: A few months ago I had to cancel my subscription to the Sun Journal for personal reasons. Then, on Oct. 16 and 17, the paper was delivered to my home. I called the paper to let them know the delivery person had the wrong house and I didn’t want them to get in trouble. The lady who answered the phone told me she would call me back when she found out more about it. When she called back, she told me someone had paid for my paper for 52 weeks.

To the special angel in my life, thank you from the bottom of my heart. I will pay it forward with love, kindness and help to others. May God bless you and keep you safe always.

ANSWER: Can you imagine what the world would be like if everyone did one little act of kindness every day? This is a gentle reminder to be aware that the people you come into contact with on a daily basis are doing their best and they often have struggles, as do we. It takes so little time and effort to make a positive difference in someone’s life. Having the paper to read can be a very important part of someone’s day. What’s something you now take for granted that you would miss if you didn’t have it? Especially after this recent storm, it’s something to think about!

It’s also OK to let others know when you could use support, whether it’s a ride to town, help with snow removal or assistance with figuring out that new cellphone. We can’t help one another if we keep what we need a secret. Speak up and give others a chance to step up.
