LEWISTON — Something most people have in common is the love of food. Often when a loved one dies, people reflect fondly about meals they always looked forward to and family fun around the dinner table.
Androscoggin Home Care & Hospice has planned a unique event to help children, teens and their families remember a loved one during the holiday season by sharing favorite foods.
Meals & Memories will take place from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. Saturday, Dec. 2, at the L/A Metropolitan Chamber of Commerce, 415 Lisbon St.
Attendees are asked to bring their loved one’s favorite food or dish to share with others, a copy of a favorite photo of their loved one and a recipe for a cookbook that will be created and shared after the event.
There will be an opportunity for participants to share stories about the fond memories associated with their food, and special crafts will be created to commemorate loved ones in festive holiday style after dining.
There is no cost to attend, but those wishing to attend must register by Monday, Nov. 27. This is a first-come, first served event limited to 50 people. An adult must accompany all children and teens.
FMI, register: 207-795-9468.
