WINTHROP — Steven R. Helms, 29, a resident of Winthrop, formerly of Jay, passed away suddenly, Wednesday, Nov. 15, as a result of an asthma attack. He was born Jan. 5, 1988, in San Diego, Calif., the son of William Helms and Karen Timberlake. His family moved to Maine and they resided in Jay. Steven attended school in Jay and graduated from Jay High School.
He had worked at DeCoster Egg Farm in Turner and was recently hired at Progressive Distributors in Winthrop. He enjoyed time spent with his family and his friends. He is survived by his son, Mason Brochu of Jay; his mother, Karen Timberlake of Alpine, Calif.; his sisters, Melissa Helms of Monmouth, Chaz Timberlake of Clearwater, Fla., Christina Figueroa of Alpine, Calif., and Kimberly Helms of Lewiston; brothers, Larry Chapman and Kevin Helms of Jay; his grandmother, Priscilla Savage of Livermore Falls; his aunt, Cynthia Padilla of Monmouth; and many nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his father, William Helms.
