This is in response to Ellen Field (letter, Nov. 21) and the obstructionist Democrats.

Democrats are against everything Donald Trump is trying and doing for this country. I can’t imagine the outrage from the left if President Barack Obama had been treated like that. No president in history has ever been subjected to the hate that President Trump has — from members of his campaign being wiretapped during his run for the presidency to the hate-filled threats daily to his family and himself.

Obamacare is a joke. Insurance with a $5,000 to $6,000 deductible is not very good insurance. It was never implemented to take care of the people; it was a way to control people. The Republicans’ proposed tax bill will do away with the penalty for no insurance that many people, unable to afford Obamacare, have to pay now. It will give small businesses a big tax break. Small businesses are the backbone of this country. It will double the personal deduction, giving the working man a break. And it will return the Medicaid funds that Obama robbed from Medicare.

Democrats of today are socialists. They want the government to take over everything and rule the people. This attack on the Republicans’ tax cut plan is just another campaign of lies and threats. That is all the Democrats have left.

And Sen. Susan Collins needs to remember who elected her.
