As an emergency room nurse and volunteer for housing initiatives, I witness daily the needs for a safer and healthier Lewiston. I help treat cases of preventable overdose, comfort children with avoidable lead poisoning, and care for older residents whose limited incomes contribute to their suffering.
For those reasons, I am excited about mayoral candidate Ben Chin’s public health approach to the drug and housing issues in Lewiston. Chin supports efforts to further educate law enforcement, health care workers, and the public. He will hold the drug industry accountable in ending drug abuse and addiction. He will bolster efforts to improve housing through weatherization, low interest rehabilitation loans, tax relief for seniors and incentives for responsible landlords. He has the drive, compassion, and knowledge to get everyone to do their part.
Every vote for Ben Chin is a vote to keep Lewiston safe and healthy for the future.
