LEWISTON — Jean Gallant, 82, of Rumford, passed away at Central Maine Medical Center in Lewiston on Friday Nov. 24.
She was born in Rumford on July 31, 1935, the daughter of the late William and Eleanor (Haines) Chabot. She attended local schools, graduating from Stephens High School. On April 7, 1958, she married the love of her life, Richard Gallant. Together they worked and raised their young family in Rumford for 57 years, until his death in 2015.
She was a loving wife and mother to her three boys. She enjoyed quilting, rug hooking and painting. She was a member of PAL’S Animal Shelter in Winthrop and she had a great love of animals, especially her cats. Most of all, she enjoyed her time spent with her family.
Jean is survived by her three boys, Jeff Gallant and wife, Sara of Rumford, and their children, Michael and Amanda, Scott Gallant and wife, Carol of Westbrook, and their children, Stephanie, Laurie, Cassidie and Justin, and Todd Gallant of Rumford.
She was predeceased by her parents; and her husband, Richard Gallant.
