LEWISTON — John J. Schreiber, 87, died unexpectedly Monday, Dec. 4, with his loving wife and family by his side.
John was born in Brooklyn, N.Y., on Jan. 4, 1930, the son of Arthur and Agnes (White) Schreiber. In 1953, he married the love of his life, Denise Mailhot of Lewiston, at Fort Lee, Va., where both were serving in the Army. John proudly served in the both the Korean and Vietnam Conflicts in the U.S. Army for 30 years before retiring in Lewiston.
He is survived by his loving wife, Denise, and five children: Michael and his wife Karen, John and his wife Monique, Denise Begin and her husband Ronald, Patricia and Cathleen Schreiber. He also leaves six grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren.
He was devoted to his wife and extended family. He will always be remembered by those who knew and loved him.
