LEWISTON — A woman robbed a downtown convenience store Monday evening, police said.

The woman, dressed in a coat and sweatshirt with the hood snugged tightly around her face, presented a note demanding money to a clerk at Victor News on Park Street, Lt. David St. Pierre said Tuesday.

She fled with an undisclosed amount of money, he said.

The woman “alluded” to being armed but brandished no weapon, St. Pierre said.

She was described as freckle-nosed, dressed mostly in black, wearing a light black, puffy, hooded jacket over a gray hoodie sweatshirt, with dark pants — possibly sweatpants.

No injuries were reported. Police were investigating the incident.

Anyone with information about this incident is urged to call Detective Tyler Michaud at 513-3001, extension 3316.
