AUBURN — Normand R. Morin, 85, of Lisbon Falls, passed away on Thursday, Dec. 14, at The Androscoggin Hospice House in Auburn. He was born in Lewiston on Dec. 29, 1931, a son of the late Jean Baptiste and Alpheda (Beaudoin) Morin. After attending schools locally, he entered the U.S. Army and served his country in the Korean War where he earned the Korean Service Medal, Bronze Service Stars, The United Nations Service Medal and National Defense Service Medal.

After the war, he received his honorable discharge in 1954, and went to work at Bates Mill as a forklift operator, working there until his retirement in 1991. On July 4, 1964, he married the love of his life, Juliette Provencher, in Lewiston at Ss. Peter and Paul Catholic Church. They lived and worked in the Lewiston-Lisbon area their entire married life. Juliette passed away March 31, 2017. Normand enjoyed bowling, watching the Patriots and Red Sox, and in his younger years he loved traveling throughout the country with his wife.

Normand is survived by his sister, Murielle Caron; a brother, Rosaire Morin; three stepchildren, sons, Lucien Brunelle and Laurier Brunelle, daughter, Constance Durette; six grandchildren, Thomas, Larry, Christopher, Lori, Malinda, Paul; 12 great-grandchildren; four great-great-grandchildren; and 32 nieces and nephews.

Besides his parents he was predeceased by his wife of 53 years, Juliette Morin; two brothers, Robert Morin, Conrad Morin; and a sister, Pauline Lanois.
