I wonder … every time President Donald Trump takes a trip on Air Force One he gives the Marine at the door of the plane a snappy salute, and my insides do a flip flop.

And I wonder what that Marine is thinking when he has to salute a man who had five deferments so he would not be drafted and be put in harm’s way.

I also wonder about Bill Clinton, who just happened to be in England so he would not be drafted.

And let us not forget George W. Bush, who ran off and joined the Air Force National Guard, who became president and started a war. I have to wonder what his father was thinking.

What were the people of the United States thinking when they voted for those three men?

I wonder.
