On Jan. 4, I gave the town of Rumford a $200 donation for the July 4 fireworks display. I would like to see the town’s fireworks display be one of the best in the state again, like it used to be. Being retired and on a fixed income, that was all I could afford.

But Rumford’s fireworks can be great again if more people donate, so I am challenging all families in the Rumford, Mexico, Dixfield and Peru area to donate at least $5 to the town of Rumford by the last day of February so the fireworks committee can make a large order.
