Livermore Falls police are asking that anyone who saw a vehicle hit a utility pole on lower Park Street/Route 133 on Wednesday afternoon to call them at 897-3424. A large chunk was taken out of the pole, possibly about 4 p.m., Sgt.Vernon Stevens said Thursday. Nearly 2,000 Central Maine Power customers in Jay, Livermore and Livermore Falls lost service for about 20 minutes, spokeswoman Gail Rice said. (Donna M. Perry/Sun Journal)
