SOUTH PARIS — Roger Lucien Robin, of Hanover, passed away peacefully Tuesday, Jan. 16, at Maine Veterans Homes in South Paris.

Roger was born July 12, 1927, in Lewiston, the son of Thaddius and Annie (Marquis) Robin. He was educated in Rumford schools and served in the U.S. Navy during WWII, primarily on the island of Guam. He was employed as a paper worker in Rumford for nearly 47 years. Roger was an avid gardener and enjoyed maintaining his home on Howard Pond Road in Hanover. In his retirement he enjoyed trips to New Orleans, where he enjoyed jazz and big-band era music performances, Cajun and Creole cuisine and a bit of poker. He was always ready with a hearty greeting, a big smile and a laugh for all he met.

He married Floris Ann Knox, of Mexico, on Dec. 13, 1958, and she predeceased him in 2007. He was also predeceased by his three siblings, Maurice, David and Martha (Surette); as well as his loving sister-in-law, Lois Poole. He is survived by son, Michael Robin, and companion, Deborah Whitney, of Gray; brother-in-law, Gary Knox, and wife, Sue, of Stafford, Conn.; and numerous nieces and nephews.

His family would like to offer many thanks to the staff of the B Unit at the Maine Veterans Homes in South Paris. They provided him with a truly outstanding level of care, treating him as if he were a family member.

Friends and family are invited to sign the online guest book and share memories with the family at www.meaderandson.com.
