LEWISTON — New Ventures Maine is offering a free, one-session workshop about self-employment from 10 a.m. to noon Thursday, Feb. 8, at the CareerCenter, 5 Mollison Way.
The workshop is geared for those who have wondered about starting their own business but who are not sure how. It may help people decide if self-employment is the right choice.
The class covers the pros and cons of owning a business, the steps needed for startup, the major elements of a business plan, and the many resources available to help with success. The workshop will be led by Karleen Andrews, microenterprise specialist for the Western Region of New Ventures Maine.
