GREENE — John W. Childs Jr. (Jack), was 86 years old and lived in Greene. He died at home of natural causes Thursday, Jan. 18.

He was born in Belfast on July 26, 1931. He was a veteran of the Army as a tank commander. He was the son of John and Thelma Childs Sr.

Jack is survived by his three children: stepdaughter, Lori D’Amico, Jacqueline Childs Willey, Scott W. Childs; his two brothers, William Childs, Ernie Childs; and sister, Jacqueline Cushing; and sisters-in-law, Darcie Hodgkins Childs and Vernan Childs. Jack had four grandchildren, Lorraine, Sabrina, John, Scott. He also had great-grandchildren, Logan, Koby, Emma, Brantley, Kinsley and Jack; and also had many nieces and nephews.

He was predeceased by his father, John Sr.; his mother, Thelma; a sister, Sally; and his brother, Joe.
