SARASOTA, Fla. — Emile P. Chasse, 64, a resident of Sarasota, Fla., and formerly of Lewiston, passed away unexpectedly at his home on Tuesday, Jan. 23.

He was born in Lewiston, Dec. 27, 1953, the son of Emile J. and Juliette M. (Lessard) Chasse.

Mr. Chasse was a 1971 graduate of St. Dominic High School, and was employed over 37 years with General Electric, retiring in 2010. Following his retirement, he moved to Florida with his wife, Doris, where they enjoyed spending time together at Siesta Beach.

Emile was a man of faith, who loved God, his family and his country. He loved the simple things in life and always wore his heart on his sleeve. He had a contagious laugh and gave his love unconditionally. He will be greatly missed by all who knew him.

Survivors include his wife, Doris, of Sarasota; one son, Jeffrey P. Couture, of Sarasota; four daughters: Jennifer Dodge and her husband, Jason, of Auburn, Tanya Sadler and her husband, Jim, of Lewiston, Michelle Chasse and her wife, Jennifer Chasse, of Auburn, and Melissa Chasse of Lewiston; three brothers: Marcel Chasse and his wife, Connie, of Greene, Patrick Chasse and his wife, Barbara, of Lewiston, and Lucien Chasse of Lewiston; three sisters: Lorraine Levesque and her husband, George, of Lewiston, Eveline St. Pierre of Lewiston, and Monita LaRue and her husband, Gerry, of Lewiston. Also surviving are three grandchildren: Nathaniel and Alec Dodge, and Kennedy Lampert. Also surviving are many nieces and nephews.

Besides his parents, he was predeceased by one son, Michael L. Chasse, one brother, Fern Chasse, and one sister, Monique Briggs.
