The Greenbush Fire Department is pleased to announce its first Citizen’s Fire Academy.

This rewarding class will give citizens an introduction to the hands on training firefighters receive. This will be a special opportunity to meet your firefighters and better understand the services you pay for as well as experience the excitement of firefighting and EMS First Responding. The Academy will be held over an 11 week period starting February 26, with regular classes each Monday at 630 p.m. with one Saturday class.

Topics to be covered will include how to respond to an emergency, personal protective equipment, radios, fire extinguishers, fire behavior, Self Contained Breathing Apparatus (SCBA), First Aid, CPR and AED through the American Heart Association, GPS, and more, with lots of hands on training.

There are a limited number of seats available, please contact Greenbush Fire Chief Donald Burr at 207-356-1541 or email esb911@aol.com) or stop by the Greenbush town office to apply. You can also check the Greenbush Fire Department out on Facebook.
