AUBURN — Nursing students Jamie Lyn Cormier of Auburn and Nathan Pineau of Bowdoin have been awarded the 2018 Spaulding Memorial Scholarships at Central Maine Community College (CMCC).

The college awards the scholarship in memory of Jason Spaulding, who was a student at the college prior to his untimely death.

A high honors graduate of the general studies program, Cormier is a member of the Phi Theta Kappa Honor Society and is president of the CMCC Student Senate.

Pineau spent 17 years in education and social work before deciding to pursue a nursing degree at CMCC. He previously attended the University of Maine at Farmington and Augusta.
