FARMINGTON — A Jay woman was injured Monday morning when her sedan slid into stopped vehicles on icy routes 2 and 4, Farmington police officer Ryan Rosie said.

Lucille Lessard, 69, complained of shoulder pain and was taken by NorthStar EMS ambulance to Franklin Memorial Hospital, he said.

Rosie said a vehicle traveling north near Touch of Class clothing shop started to spin in front of a Lucas Tree Experts truck driven by Mario Lecours, 59 of Strong. Lecours steered into a snowbank to avoid a collision.

Vehicles driven by Amanda Hilton, 43, and Brenda Cushman, 40, both of Wilton, were able to stop behind the Lucas truck, but Lessard’s could not, Rosie said.

Lessard’s 2008 Hyundai Sonata received damage on both sides and was towed away. A large tow truck pulled the Lucas truck back onto the road and it was driven away. The company is based in Portland.

Farmington Fire Rescue Department assisted at the scene of the accident, which was reported about 8 a.m. Farmington road crews sanded the road, Rosie said.
