AUBURN — Edward Little High School junior Wol Maiwen received the 22nd annual Gordon “John” Gillette Award for the second consecutive year. The honor is presented to a player in the Edward Little – Lewiston home game, who displays the qualities Gillette embodied — “sportsmanship, desire, hustle, dedication and enjoyment of the game.” Gillette was a long-time chemistry teacher and boys’ basketball coach at Lewiston High School; he later served in those same capacities at Edward Little High School, until his retirement in 1988.
