FALMOUTH — Edward Michael Fahey Jr., 96, of Auburn, died Friday, Feb. 9, in Falmouth, following a brief illness.
Born in Lewiston on May 20, 1921, he was the son of Edward and Agnes Byrnes Fahey. He was a parishioner of the former St. Patrick’s Church of Lewiston, graduated from St. Patrick’s grammar school in 1934, Lewiston High School, Class of ’38, and after high school he attended Massachusetts Radio Institute in Boston. He entered the United States Army Air Force in 1942, serving four years. He was recalled to active duty in 1951, during the Korean War serving for one year and a half. He was a member of the American Legion Posts 26 and 153. Edward was employed by New England Telephone & Telegraph Co. for 36 years.
He is survived by several nieces and nephews.
Besides his parents, he was predeceased by his wife, Elizabeth Burns Fahey, in 2003.
