LEWISTON — Community forum to hear update on proposed performing arts building at Lewiston High School, 6:30 p.m., Multipurpose Room.

LEWISTON — City Council workshop, 6 p.m. in the Council Chamber at City Hall. Agenda includes discussion on opioid addiction and the Bates Mill No. 5 redevelopment. 

AUBURN — School Committee, regular meeting, 7 p.m., Auburn Hall. Agenda: instructional coaches share the work they do with teachers and students; ratification of contract with administrators. Meeting preceded by workshop on committee goals, set budget priorities. 

AUBURN — Citylink bus public meeting, 2 p.m. in the Council Chamber at Auburn Hall. Citylink is looking for feedback on a proposal to add the standard $1.50 rate to the downtown shuttle route. 

AUBURN — Planning Board meeting, 6 p.m. in the community conference room at Auburn Hall. 

AUBURN — “Fake or Factual” challenge on how well you can tell fake news from news, Auburn Public Library, noon to 1 p.m. Headlines will be provided and guests will see if they can tell the difference between real and phony. Staff will lead a discussion on how to be a more critical news consumer. Sponsored by Auburn Public Library, American Library Association and the Center for News Literacy at Stony Brook University.

THURSDAY, Feb. 15

LEWISTON — Great Falls Forum, noon to 1 p.m., at Lewiston Public Library, featuring Lisa DeSisto, CEO of Sun Media Group and MaineToday Media, with a talk: “A Bright Future for Newspapers.” DeSisto will share her vision of why the future for newspapers, particularly in Maine, appears bright but challenging.

AUBURN — Committee on Auburn’s agricultural and natural resource economy, 6 p.m. in the Council Chamber at Auburn Hall. The committee has identified a number of challenges to agriculture in Auburn, and a consultant will present potential solutions.
